Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and while your busy preparing for the slough of guests flocking to your home, CPR would like to remind you of some simple safety tips to get you through the holiday weekend disaster free.

  1. Locate Fire Extinguishers in your home
  2. Check expiration tag or meter, and replace if needed
  3. Read and follow instructions prior to an emergency situation
  4. Keep Fire Extinguishers on hand and remember storage locations for future incidents

If you see any of the following, it may be time to replace your Fire Extinguisher:

  • Handle is broken, loose, or wobble
  • Hose or nozzle has cracks, rips, or blockage from debris
  • Locking pin on handle is missing or seal is broken
  • Sticker or hang tag is expired, or checkups and maintenance records are missing
